What is Chin Family Clinic?

Chin Family Clinic is a modern Ontario-based Nurse Practitioner-led virtual medical clinic providing personalized care for individuals and families across Ontario.

We offer a combination of primary care, episodic/urgent care, and specialty-focused services including weight management, metabolic health, men’s health, hormone therapy, ADHD care, menopause care, travel medicine, and longevity-focused preventive medicine.

Our approach emphasizes thoughtful assessments, evidence-based treatment, clear communication, and practical long-term care plans tailored to each patient.

What makes Chin Family Clinic different?

Our clinic was built around the idea that modern healthcare should feel more accessible, thoughtful, and personalized.

We aim to combine the convenience of virtual care with a more comprehensive and patient-centered experience, while maintaining high clinical standards and evidence-based medical practice.

Patients often choose our clinic for:

  • Longer, more in-depth discussions
  • Specialty-focused expertise
  • Personalized care plans
  • Flexible access across Ontario
  • Modern virtual convenience
  • Continuity and follow-up
  • A professional but approachable care experience
Is Chin Family Clinic covered by OHIP?

At this time, Nurse Practitioners in Ontario unfortunately cannot directly bill OHIP in the same way physicians can in many practice settings, despite providing a wide range of insured medical services across the province.

As a result, visits at Chin Family Clinic are privately billed.

We remain hopeful that the Ontario government will continue evolving how Nurse Practitioners are integrated into the public healthcare system so clinics like ours can continue improving access to care for patients across Ontario in a variety of settings and communities.

Many investigations ordered through our clinic, including eligible lab work and imaging, remain covered by OHIP.

Who can book appointments?

We see patients of all ages across Ontario.

For very young infants (particularly under 6 months old), an in-person physical examination is often important and may fall outside the scope of what can be safely managed through a virtual clinic alone.

If we feel your concern requires in-person assessment, emergency evaluation, or another level of care, we will guide you appropriately.

How do virtual appointments work?

Appointments are completed securely by video or phone from anywhere in Ontario.

During your visit, we can assess symptoms, review medical history, discuss treatment options, order lab work or imaging, prescribe medications when appropriate, provide referrals, complete medical forms, and arrange follow-up care.

Most prescriptions can be sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy in Ontario.

What conditions do you treat?

We provide care for a broad range of medical concerns, including both ongoing and urgent issues.

Common areas of care include:

  • Weight management and metabolic health
  • Men’s health and hormone therapy
  • Menopause and women’s hormonal health
  • ADHD assessment and ongoing management
  • PCOS
  • Hair loss and acne
  • Sports and musculoskeletal concerns
  • Travel medicine
  • Preventive and longevity-focused care
  • General family medicine and routine concerns
  • Walk-in and urgent care concerns such as UTIs, sinus infections, rashes, pink eye, coughs/colds, prescription refills, and more
Can you prescribe medications?

Yes. Nurse Practitioners in Ontario are licensed to prescribe a wide range of medications.

Depending on the assessment, this may include treatments related to weight management, hormone therapy, ADHD, infections, skin conditions, travel medicine, and many other medical concerns.

Some commonly requested medications may include therapies such as Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, testosterone therapy, and ADHD medications when clinically appropriate.

Patient safety, medical appropriateness, and ongoing follow-up are always prioritized.

Do you prescribe narcotics, opioids, benzodiazepines, or other controlled substances?

No.

Due to the risks associated with virtual prescribing and medication diversion, our clinic does not prescribe narcotics/opioids, benzodiazepines, sleeping pills, or other controlled substances.

The exception is carefully monitored stimulant treatment for established ADHD patients managed directly through our clinic.

Can you refill prescriptions from another clinic or provider?

Often, yes.

In many cases we can provide interim or ongoing prescription refills if appropriate documentation or proof of prior treatment is available.

Some medications or situations may still require reassessment, updated investigations, or follow-up with the original prescriber.

Can you order lab work, imaging, and referrals?

Yes.

We can order bloodwork, urine testing, ultrasounds, X-rays, MRI imaging, and specialist referrals when medically appropriate.

Eligible investigations ordered through our clinic are generally still covered by OHIP.

Do you offer same-day appointments?

Sometimes.

As a small independent clinic, availability can vary day-to-day. We do our best to accommodate timely concerns whenever possible.

If you are seeking urgent or time-sensitive care, emailing us directly is often the best option so we can help guide you appropriately.

For medical emergencies, always call 911 or visit your nearest emergency department.

Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?

Yes. We offer flexible appointment availability, including some evening and weekend appointments depending on scheduling and clinician availability.

Do you offer home visits?

Selectively, yes.

Limited home visits may occasionally be available depending on the situation, location, and clinical needs involved. Please contact us directly to inquire.

How much do appointments cost?

Appointment fees vary depending on the visit type and complexity of care required.

Current pricing and booking options can be viewed directly through our online booking page.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

We kindly ask that patients provide at least 24 hours’ notice for appointment cancellations or rescheduling requests whenever possible.

Due to the time reserved specifically for each patient, missed appointments or cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are non-refundable.

Please note that all consultations and medical services provided through Chin Family Clinic are final sale and non-refundable, including partially completed consultations, administrative work performed on behalf of the patient, or situations where treatment, prescriptions, investigations, referrals, or requested outcomes are ultimately not provided following medical assessment. By booking an appointment, patients acknowledge and agree to these policies.
